The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Economics lessons to A-level students, using engaging and interactive teaching methods.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and fostering a deep understanding of economic principles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain a strong Economics curriculum aligned with Edexcel standards.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students, ensuring their academic and personal development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Economics and incorporate current events into teaching.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programs that enhance student learning.
  • Work closely with students to help them prepare for university and future careers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Economics, Business, or a closely related subject.
  • Experience in teaching Economics at A-level or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Economics.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist practices.

Preferred

  • Experience working with high-achieving students.
  • Familiarity with Edexcel Economics course content.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment activities.
  • Previous involvement in staff-run groups or extracurricular initiatives.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student mentorship.
