The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring and experienced A Level Music Teacher to join our thriving Music department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A Level Music to a range of students, with a focus on composition and performance.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students to excel academically and creatively.
  • Support students in their progression to prestigious conservatoires and higher education institutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the school’s Music curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students within the department.
  • Participate in departmental and school-wide events and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and music-related events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching A Level Music.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Music, with a particular focus on composition and performance.
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist practices in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering A Level Music courses, including composition.
  • Familiarity with specialist music facilities and industry-standard equipment.
  • Experience working in a high-achieving, Ofsted Outstanding institution.
  • Involvement in extracurricular music activities or ensembles.
