The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English and Media that promote critical thinking and creativity.
- Design and implement a challenging curriculum that prepares students for university, apprenticeships, and the world of work.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with students, supporting their academic and personal development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Encourage student participation in extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of English and Media education.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral support and community engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English and Media at sixth form level.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons that inspire student success.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English and Media education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
- Experience in curriculum design and assessment.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching A Level or BTEC courses.
- Familiarity with digital and media tools in the classroom.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Background in extra-curricular leadership or club management.
- Knowledge of careers guidance and university preparation.
