The Opportunity:
As an English Curriculum Coordinator, you will lead curriculum development and instructional practices for the Secondary English programme. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, committed to student success, and looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and forward-thinking school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of the Secondary English curriculum to align with Cambridge International and Vietnamese requirements.
- Promote inquiry-based learning and practical investigation in English, while teaching up to 50% of the standard workload.
- Develop and maintain robust assessment frameworks and moderation processes to monitor student progress and inform teaching.
- Deliver targeted professional learning, mentoring, and coaching for English teachers to raise standards and share best practices.
- Oversee the procurement of learning resources and advise on budgetary needs for the English department.
- Implement regular curriculum reviews, lesson observations, and data analysis to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-curricularly with colleagues in English, Design & Technology, and ICT to develop interdisciplinary projects.
- Lead extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes to foster student engagement and leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Education and/or qualified teacher status (e.g. PGCE, QTS or international equivalent) and a strong honours degree in English.
- iGCSE FLE (or just GCSE English if coming from the UK) and A-Level Literature experience.
- Proven track record of successful classroom teaching across secondary year groups, including experience preparing students for external examinations.
- Experience in curriculum leadership, assessment design, and professional development for colleagues.
- Right to work in Vietnam by July 2026, or willingness to complete necessary visa and relocation processes.
Preferred
- Experience working in a multicultural school community.
- Confidence in using assessment data to diagnose learning needs and raise attainment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with technology-enhanced learning and evidence-based teaching approaches.
