Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across all year groups, including GCSE and A Level courses.
  • Develop and implement detailed schemes of work that support student learning and achievement.
  • Participate in the school’s extra-curricular programme, including events, competitions, and activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support students through pastoral care and house tutoring responsibilities.
  • Utilise modern teaching facilities, including interactive SMART boards and visualisers.
  • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the school’s academic and co-curricular success through active involvement in the community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong academic background and a passion for the subject.
  • Ability to teach across all year groups and A Level courses.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement.
  • Willingness to take on house tutor and extra-curricular responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA and Edexcel specifications.
  • Background in teaching both Language and Literature courses.
  • Experience in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop engaging lesson plans.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
