The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB Programme. This is an opportunity to inspire students, foster critical thinking, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, inquiry-based English Language & Literature and/or Literature lessons aligned with the IB Programme.
  • Design and implement differentiated learning experiences that support diverse learners in an international school setting.
  • Develop students’ critical thinking, analytical writing, and oral communication skills through a broad range of literary texts and global perspectives.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress using IB assessment criteria, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students effectively for IB internal assessments, external examinations, and Extended Essay supervision where applicable.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing, academic integrity, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, moderation, and interdisciplinary learning initiatives.
  • Contribute actively to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities, pastoral care, and school events in line with Inspired Education values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of IGCSE, IB or similar English curricula and assessment practices.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire high levels of student engagement and achievement.
  • Proven ability to teach students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula and assessment practices.
  • Background in student-centred teaching and innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning initiatives.
