The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher with Leadership Potential, you will deliver high-quality music education aligned with the National Curriculum for England. You will inspire students through performance, creativity, and leadership, while contributing to the vibrant cultural life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons in line with the English National Curriculum and/or GCSE/A Level specifications.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL and SEND pupils.
  • Prepare pupils for performances, concerts, and school productions.
  • Lead or support extracurricular music activities (choirs, ensembles, bands).
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in line with school assessment policy.
  • Prepare students for external examinations where applicable (e.g., GCSE, A Level, ABRSM).
  • Contribute to whole-school events and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain and manage music resources and equipment effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within the British curriculum.
  • Strong instrumental/vocal proficiency.
  • Experience preparing students for performances and/or examinations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Leadership experience or potential for future leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with international education environments.
