The Opportunity:

As an Equine Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality riding lessons and practical stable management, contributing to the academic and personal development of students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about equine education and committed to student achievement and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality riding lessons and practical stable management, including health, behaviour, and groundwork.
  • Plan, resource, and deliver teaching and assessment for FE and HE programs.
  • Support student progress and achievement through academic target setting, performance monitoring, and pastoral care.
  • Participate in course-related trips, visits, student recruitment, open days, and information evenings.
  • Support student work experience on the college yard, ensuring compliance with college and awarding body standards.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance processes and provide feedback to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in the equine industry with a focus on coaching riders and horse welfare.
  • Qualified BHS Stage 3 Coach (or equivalent) with up-to-date industry CPD and experience.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and provide outstanding support to students.
  • Commitment to student achievement and quality in education.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching within a further or higher education environment.
  • Additional qualifications or experience in equine management or related fields.
