The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a Facilities and Health and Safety Manager to oversee the maintenance and compliance of its facilities. This role ensures that all buildings and services meet regulatory standards, supporting a safe and effective learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee contractors for maintenance and repairs across the school estate.
- Project manage renovations and estate developments to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Develop and implement a rolling program for preventative maintenance, including managing contracts and schedules.
- Coordinate with internal and external experts for maintenance in areas such as Legionella, asbestos, electrical testing, and gas safety.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and inspection frameworks for health and safety.
- Work closely with the Fire Manager to maintain fire safety equipment and records.
- Support the Director of Facilities in managing the department and delivering on strategic priorities.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in facilities management for a single site.
- Experience in delivering projects to quality, cost, and time.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical building services.
- Ability to manage contractors and project teams effectively.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Preferred
- Experience in managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Leadership and management skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in educational or school environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum.
- Full-time, permanent position with standard working hours.
