The Opportunity:

As an Exams Officer, you will play a vital role in managing all aspects of examinations, ensuring compliance with national regulations and supporting the school in raising standards through accurate data management and pupil tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administrative and operational aspects of examinations in line with JCQ regulations.
  • Coordinate the entry of students into examinations using the MIS system.
  • Liaise with examination boards and manage the timetabling of invigilators.
  • Train and supervise invigilators to ensure smooth examination processes.
  • Oversee the security, distribution, and collection of examination papers and results.
  • Coordinate the student census and use pupil tracking systems to monitor progress.
  • Analyse assessment data and produce reports for departmental managers and SLT.
  • Provide students’ assessment data to parents in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, management information, and data collection.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience with educational management information systems such as SIMS.
  • Previous experience in managing examinations or similar administrative roles.
