The Opportunity:
As an External Relations Officer, you will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with the school’s community and promoting its mission. You will support the school’s fundraising efforts and help create engagement opportunities through Event Brentwood. This is an exciting chance to work with a dynamic team and make a real impact on the school’s future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni, parents, and supporters.
- Coordinate and manage communication strategies to keep the community informed and engaged.
- Support fundraising initiatives and inspire financial contributions to the school’s foundation.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to grow the school’s association and foundation.
- Organize and support events through Event Brentwood, including managing logistics and promoting attendance.
- Ensure consistent and reliable delivery across multiple projects and initiatives.
- Represent the school at external events and meetings as required.
- Monitor and report on engagement metrics and community feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in external relations, community engagement, or fundraising.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in an educational or non-profit setting.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of an independent school.
Preferred
- Experience with alumni relations or event management.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
- Familiarity with school development and foundation work.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience with CRM or database management systems.
