Summary:

Senior Curriculum Manager - Supported Learning role at a school offering impactful support for students with learning disabilities.

The Opportunity:

Lead the Supported Learning department and ensure effective support for students with learning disabilities, working closely with local authorities and educational staff to enhance academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Supported Learning department to ensure student needs are met.
  • Collaborate with local boroughs to secure funding and resources for students.
  • Deliver teaching responsibilities within the Supported Learning department, including 1-2-1 and group support.
  • Line manage coordinators, assessors, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective deployment.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to improve teaching practices.
  • Work with the Deputy Curriculum Director to implement and manage EHCPS for students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements, including DBS checks.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Teacher training and experience in Supported Learning or a related field.
  • Management experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience in delivering support for students with learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with local authorities and educational staff.

Preferred

  • Experience as a SENDCO or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of EHCPS and its implementation.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
  • Familiarity with DBS and safeguarding procedures.
