The Opportunity:
A Geography Teacher is needed to join a dynamic and ambitious school that is rated 'Good' by Ofsted. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning, inspire a passion for Geography, and contribute to a successful Humanities Faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Geography lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all students, ensuring strong academic outcomes.
- Support student progress through formative and summative assessment, and provide targeted feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in staff development and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Stay up to date with developments in Geography and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Promote the school’s values of Think Big, Do the Right Thing, and Team Spirit in all interactions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience in teaching Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for Geography.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the school’s vision.
Preferred
- Experience with inclusive teaching and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience in developing and leading extracurricular Geography activities.
- Familiarity with using technology to enhance Geography teaching.
- Experience with pastoral care and student well-being.
