The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher of Spanish and French to join our MFL Department on a maternity cover basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and to contribute to a department that consistently delivers outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach both French and Spanish to GCSE level, delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Contribute positively to the MFL Department and the overall life of the school.
  • Support students in achieving the highest possible outcomes in language learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement high-quality curriculum content.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching both French and Spanish to GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in both languages.
  • Experience of working in a school environment, ideally within a successful MFL department.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a comprehensive school setting.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Experience with using technology to enhance language learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
