The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students and ensuring positive behaviour outcomes. You will work closely with the Behaviour and Inclusion team to help students reflect, reset, and reintegrate into learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Deliver targeted behaviour interventions and support strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to maintain high standards of conduct and safety.
  • Assist in the implementation of behaviour management policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during and after incidents of poor behaviour.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of behaviour support plans and training for staff.
  • Ensure all actions are in line with safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably with a focus on behaviour support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with complex needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the Education Learning Trust’s values and ethos.
  • Experience in delivering training or support to staff on behaviour management.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
