Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, engaging students with innovative and interactive teaching methods.
  • Develop and implement a challenging and inclusive curriculum that reflects the latest educational standards and industry trends.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualized learning strategies and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and contribute to the overall development of the school.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including fieldwork and international visits, to enrich students' learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and incorporate new ideas and resources into teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through staff meetings, professional development, and other initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience.
  • Proven ability to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Experience in developing and delivering engaging and effective lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Familiarity with international education and global issues.
  • Experience with fieldwork and outdoor learning.
  • Knowledge of using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
