The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic History Teacher to join our expanding department. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of History at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, while working in a supportive and forward-thinking school. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of History education at the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with a focus on engaging and inspiring students.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, innovative lessons that reflect the school's commitment to excellence.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the History curriculum, including the development of new schemes of work.
  • Support the pastoral and academic development of students through effective teaching and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience for all students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the History department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience of teaching History at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a strong focus on global education.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience of working with diverse student groups and supporting student achievement.
  • Experience of using a range of teaching and learning strategies to engage students.
