Governors Clerk needed to support effective governance in a dynamic educational trust.

The Opportunity:
As a Governors Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the Local Governing Bodies to ensure effective governance across multiple schools. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a school environment that values excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on governance, legislation, and procedures.
- Prepare and distribute accurate, timely agendas for meetings.
- Take detailed and professional minutes of all meetings.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
- Support decision-making processes and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in the development and implementation of governance policies.
- Liaise with school leadership and governors to ensure alignment with trust objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance practices across the trust.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a governance or administrative role, preferably within education.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of governance procedures and legislation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience in preparing and managing meeting agendas and minutes.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar organisation.
- Familiarity with educational standards and statutory requirements.
- Experience in supporting school improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the role of governors in school leadership.
