The Opportunity:
As Head of Boarding, you will lead the creation of a safe, nurturing, and aspirational boarding environment that supports student growth and development. This role is central to delivering outstanding pastoral care and contributing to the strategic direction of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of boarding provision, ensuring alignment with the school’s philosophy, values, and ethos.
- Oversee the wellbeing, safety, and development of boarding students, providing professional, sensitive, and caring support.
- Develop and implement robust safeguarding procedures and operational policies for the boarding community.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student care and academic success.
- Foster a strong sense of community within the boarding house, promoting inclusivity, respect, and shared values.
- Work closely with the founding leadership team to contribute to the strategic development of the school.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements for a leading international boarding school.
- Provide residential support during term time, living in College accommodation and fulfilling all boarding duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an international boarding school.
- Demonstrated expertise in pastoral care, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
- Strong understanding of the operational and academic requirements of a boarding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission, with a focus on kindness, integrity, and responsibility.
Preferred
- Experience in a founding leadership team or in the development of new educational institutions.
- Background in a British international school or similar educational setting.
- Knowledge of the British curriculum and experience in delivering IGCSE and A Level qualifications.
- Experience in a residential or pastoral leadership role in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English and additional languages may be an advantage.
