Summary:

Head of Creative Arts sought for a dynamic school in Germany. Lead the Arts Department with passion and expertise.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Creative Arts, you will lead and inspire the Arts Department, shaping the creative and academic direction of the faculty. This role is ideal for a visionary leader with a passion for Drama teaching and a commitment to fostering student creativity and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Creative Arts Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum that promotes both academic and creative excellence.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of Drama and other creative subjects across the Secondary School.
  • Promote and develop a vibrant extra-curricular programme in the arts.
  • Ensure alignment with the National Curriculum and IB Diploma standards.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide strategic goals.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in all aspects of the Creative Arts Faculty.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a teaching or educational leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in teaching Drama at the Secondary level.
  • Fluency in English and familiarity with the English National Curriculum.
  • Valid teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., M.Ed., Lehramt, or PGCE).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or faculty.
  • Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Experience in developing and managing extra-curricular activities.
  • Ability to support and contribute to the pastoral and academic life of the school.
  • Experience working in an international school environment.
