The Opportunity:
As the Head of Creative Arts, you will lead and inspire the Arts Department, shaping the creative and academic direction of the faculty. This role is ideal for a visionary leader with a passion for Drama teaching and a commitment to fostering student creativity and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Creative Arts Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum that promotes both academic and creative excellence.
- Support and mentor staff within the department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of Drama and other creative subjects across the Secondary School.
- Promote and develop a vibrant extra-curricular programme in the arts.
- Ensure alignment with the National Curriculum and IB Diploma standards.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide strategic goals.
- Encourage student engagement and participation in all aspects of the Creative Arts Faculty.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a teaching or educational leadership role.
- Extensive experience in teaching Drama at the Secondary level.
- Fluency in English and familiarity with the English National Curriculum.
- Valid teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., M.Ed., Lehramt, or PGCE).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or faculty.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme.
- Experience in developing and managing extra-curricular activities.
- Ability to support and contribute to the pastoral and academic life of the school.
- Experience working in an international school environment.
