The Opportunity:

As the Head of Hockey and Cricket, you will lead and develop two major sports within a dynamic and growing sports programme. This is a pivotal role for a school committed to fostering self-discipline, academic success, and a vibrant sporting culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the hockey and cricket programmes, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement training schedules, competitions, and player development plans.
  • Collaborate with staff and coaches to enhance the overall sporting experience for students.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and excellence in sports.
  • Support the school’s mission by encouraging student well-being and personal growth through sport.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents, students, and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Contribute to the broader sporting and co-curricular programme of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in managing sports teams or programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of hockey and cricket, including coaching and competitive standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of academic excellence, pastoral care, and personal development.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering sports programmes for students of all abilities.
  • Familiarity with pastoral roles and student welfare.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
