The Opportunity:
The Head of Humanities will lead a dynamic faculty focused on delivering high-quality education and supporting student success. This role offers the chance to shape a new department and contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Humanities faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Oversee the teaching and leadership of Geography, with a focus on GCSE and A Level outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and progression.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders and teachers across the Unity Schools Partnership.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and whole-child development.
- Support and mentor staff within the faculty.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s vision and values in all aspects of leadership.
- Engage with the wider community and build strong partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Humanities, ideally with a specialism in Geography.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably as a Head of Department.
- Strong track record in improving student outcomes and academic achievement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a faculty or department within a multi-academy trust.
- Familiarity with the Unity Schools Partnership and its values.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience in leading professional development for staff.
