As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a dynamic department and drive excellence in Mathematics education across all key stages. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum development, enhance teaching quality, and inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a well-established Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver Mathematics at GCSE, Core Maths, and A-level, with a focus on strong student outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction, curriculum design, and assessment frameworks that support student progression.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices to maintain high standards and drive improvement.
  • Support and mentor staff to enhance their practice and leadership capabilities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a positive academic culture.
  • Ensure inclusive teaching practices that raise achievement for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in Mathematics teaching and leadership at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a clear vision for Mathematics education.
  • Experience in curriculum design, assessment, and progression planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of teachers.
  • Commitment to high standards, inclusion, and raising achievement for all students.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Further Mathematics at A-level.
  • Leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • Experience in instructional coaching or professional development.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology in education.
