The Opportunity:

As Head of Mathematics, you will lead and manage the teaching and learning of Mathematics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This is a key leadership role within a growing and high-profile institution, offering the chance to shape the future of Mathematics education and inspire both students and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day teaching and learning in the Mathematics department
  • Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that aligns with the school’s academic standards
  • Support and mentor Mathematics staff to ensure continuous professional development
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Collaborate with other departments and senior leaders to contribute to the school’s strategic goals
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of co-curricular activities related to Mathematics
  • Ensure effective communication with parents and stakeholders regarding student progress and departmental goals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics education
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and expertise in Mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student wellbeing

Preferred

  • Experience in a British International School or similar educational environment
  • Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership
  • Familiarity with international education standards and assessments
  • Strong understanding of modern pedagogical approaches and technologies
  • Experience in managing a large and diverse team of teachers and support staff
