The Opportunity:
As the Head of Middle School, you will lead and inspire the Middle School team, drive academic excellence, and contribute strategically to the school’s future direction. This role is ideal for an innovative leader looking to progress towards a senior leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Middle School team of Heads of Year and Tutors.
- Drive academic excellence through rigorous analysis, tracking, and intervention.
- Oversee Challenge Grade Reviews, behaviour systems, and pastoral structures.
- Cultivate a strong, distinctive Middle School identity and community.
- Represent the Middle School to current and prospective families.
- Lead Middle School events, assemblies, tutorials, and enrichment programmes.
- Work closely with pastoral, safeguarding, learning support, activities, and careers teams.
- Support 13+ recruitment and maintain strong relationships with feeder Prep Schools.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and strategic planning skills.
- Commitment to the development, wellbeing, and success of young people.
- Experience in academic leadership and team management.
Preferred
- Experience with Challenge Grade Reviews and pastoral systems.
- Experience in school-wide strategic planning.
- Experience with 13+ recruitment and feeder school relationships.
- Experience in leading events and enrichment programmes.
