The Opportunity:
The Head of Technology Faculty will lead and inspire a dynamic department, ensuring students receive a high-quality education in Technology. This role is central to shaping the curriculum and driving excellence in teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Technology Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a stimulating and challenging curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Oversee the use of specialist facilities, including food rooms, design classrooms, and art studios.
- Support the professional development of staff within the Technology department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student learning.
- Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in Technology education.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of all resources and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a Technology department in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Technology, including Food Preparation and Nutrition, 3D Design, and Textile Design.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in managing specialist facilities and equipment.
- Knowledge of assessment and monitoring strategies in Technology education.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative structure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
