The Opportunity:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching staff and enhancing the learning experience for students. You will deliver targeted interventions, lead small group sessions, and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes under supervision
  • Support teaching staff in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Provide targeted interventions to support pupils with additional learning needs
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support Team to remove barriers to learning and promote student progress
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive classroom environments that encourage participation and engagement
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in education support
  • Act as a positive role model for students and colleagues alike

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths, Grade 3 minimum or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in working as a teaching assistant or equivalent
  • Experience working with young people
  • Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum across both key stages
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering small group or whole-class teaching sessions
  • Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and fixed-term contract to end July 2027
