Summary:

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role available at a school in Norwich. Support students with autism and complex needs.

The Opportunity:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and complex needs. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver high-quality, personalised learning and lead a team of learning support assistants. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised learning tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning styles
  • Lead and manage a team of learning support assistants, ensuring consistency and best practice across the curriculum
  • Collaborate with education and residential teams to maximise learning opportunities during transitions and routines
  • Implement individualised communication and learning goals in partnership with therapists and teaching staff
  • Contribute to student progress by setting targets, maintaining accurate records, and supporting assessments
  • Attend statutory reviews and meetings, preparing detailed reports as required
  • Administer medication safely in accordance with healthcare guidance and school policies
  • Support students in a structured, inclusive, and therapeutic environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade 4/C or equivalent
  • Experience supporting students with complex needs in an educational setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and guide learning support assistants
  • Commitment to helping every student reach their full potential

Preferred

  • Experience working in a specialist autism setting
  • Experience with individualised learning plans and assessments
  • Knowledge of therapeutic and clinical support practices
