As an SEN Teacher on maternity cover, you will support students with complex needs in a nurturing and structured environment. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people while working as part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned with Semi-Formal curriculum pathways
- Design tailored learning resources that promote curiosity and participation
- Create structured, stimulating classroom environments that encourage independence
- Support pupil progress and wellbeing in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding provision
- Develop and share specialist knowledge in teaching pupils with autism and complex needs
- Adapt lessons and approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- UK QTS (or equivalent) with a relevant degree
- Strong understanding of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced challenges
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
- Experience working with pupils on Semi-Formal curriculum pathways
- Experience with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar
- Previous experience in a specialist SEN setting
