The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to ensure the safety, well-being and positive behaviour of students during break times. This role is essential in maintaining a structured, inclusive and enjoyable environment on the playground and sports field, supporting students in a school that prioritises personal growth and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor school boundaries and ensure pupils remain within safe areas.
  • Observe and manage student behaviour, applying the school’s behaviour policy and escalating serious incidents.
  • Promote inclusive play and support structured activities to encourage positive social interaction.
  • Use radios and communication devices to request support when needed.
  • Identify and report health, safety and safeguarding risks promptly.
  • Provide basic first aid and refer serious injuries immediately to appropriate staff.
  • Assist in tidying the playground and ensuring equipment and belongings are collected.
  • Collaborate effectively with other school staff to maintain a consistent and supportive environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Caring, approachable and able to work with children of all ages.
  • Ability to maintain clear boundaries and appropriate behaviour with students.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage groups of children calmly and fairly.
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Calm, professional and able to manage challenging behaviour or conflict effectively.
  • Basic first aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with communication or learning difficulties.
  • Understanding of health and safety principles and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £12.87 - £13.22 per hour.
