About the School:

A specialist school for secondary students aged 11-19, focused on supporting young people with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The school provides bespoke learning programmes to help students develop the skills needed for independent living.

The Opportunity:

As an IT Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the digital learning experience for students with complex needs. You will deliver engaging IT lessons, support students from Entry Level 1 through to GCSE, and contribute to the development of the IT curriculum. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and help them build essential digital skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality IT lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students
  • Develop and implement engaging Programmes of Work and Schemes of Study
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates to senior management
  • Coordinate with the Examinations Officer to manage assessments and qualification entries
  • Support the Acting Head of School with administrative and operational tasks
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning and wellbeing
  • Stay up to date with developments in IT education and digital learning strategies
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet different learning styles and abilities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or a related subject
  • Experience teaching BTEC and GCSE IT qualifications
  • At least 2 years’ recent experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering IT curricula
  • Knowledge of digital media and SEMH teaching strategies
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
