A specialist school for secondary students aged 11-19, focused on supporting young people with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The school provides bespoke learning programmes to help students develop the skills needed for independent living.
The Opportunity:
As an IT Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the digital learning experience for students with complex needs. You will deliver engaging IT lessons, support students from Entry Level 1 through to GCSE, and contribute to the development of the IT curriculum. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and help them build essential digital skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality IT lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students
- Develop and implement engaging Programmes of Work and Schemes of Study
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates to senior management
- Coordinate with the Examinations Officer to manage assessments and qualification entries
- Support the Acting Head of School with administrative and operational tasks
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning and wellbeing
- Stay up to date with developments in IT education and digital learning strategies
- Adapt teaching methods to meet different learning styles and abilities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or a related subject
- Experience teaching BTEC and GCSE IT qualifications
- At least 2 years’ recent experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering IT curricula
- Knowledge of digital media and SEMH teaching strategies
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration
- Strong organisational and time management skills
