The Opportunity:

As Vice Principal, you will play a key role in shaping the future of a school by leading curriculum and quality improvement. This is an opportunity for a strategic and visionary leader to work closely with the Principal and contribute to the ongoing success of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide line management to academic Heads of Department and MIS teams.
  • Support the Principal in strategic planning and the long-term development of the school.
  • Implement interventions to improve student outcomes and address underperformance.
  • Act as College nominee and represent the school in external meetings and events.
  • Ensure that all initiatives are student-centered and focused on enhancing the student experience.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team and local governing body to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the professional development of staff across the institution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a college or secondary school with a large sixth form.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage academic departments effectively.
  • Strong track record in quality improvement, interventions, and addressing underperformance.
  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust environment.
  • Knowledge of student support systems and interventions for learners with additional needs.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff across a range of academic disciplines.
  • Familiarity with MIS systems and data-driven decision making.
