The Opportunity:
As an IT Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the digital future of students with complex needs. You will deliver engaging IT lessons across multiple qualifications, from Entry Level 1 to GCSE, and help students build essential digital skills and confidence. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver IT curriculum across Entry Level 1, BTEC, and GCSE qualifications
- Create engaging Programmes of Work and Schemes of Study tailored to diverse learning needs
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates to senior management
- Coordinate assessments and qualification entries with the Examinations Officer
- Support the Acting Head of School with operational and administrative tasks
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning and wellbeing
- Stay up to date with developments in IT education and SEMH teaching strategies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or a related subject
- Experience teaching BTEC and GCSE IT qualifications
- At least 2 years’ recent experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
- Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles and abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire learners
- Strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership
- Familiarity with digital media and SEMH teaching strategies
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration
