The Opportunity:

As the Lead Rackets Coach, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality sports coaching and contributing to the strategic development of the school's sports programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate coach to work within a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, supporting young athletes in a variety of sports including rugby, hockey, cricket, and tennis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality coaching in rackets and other sports to students across all age groups.
  • Support the strategic planning, delivery, and management of the school's sports programme.
  • Collaborate with the sports science team to develop and implement athlete training programs.
  • Assist with fixtures, tournaments, and training sessions, ensuring a high standard of performance and engagement.
  • Mentor and guide aspiring athletes, helping them progress towards professional sports pathways.
  • Participate in the school's wider sporting and pastoral activities, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive community.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities within the sports department.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in sports coaching.
  • Proven experience working with young athletes in a school, club, or pathway coaching environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience coaching multiple sports including rugby, hockey, cricket, and tennis.
  • Familiarity with sport science and athlete development programs.
  • Background in working within a boarding school or similar educational environment.
  • Experience with professional sports organisations or pathways.
