The Opportunity:

As an Organ Scholar, you will play a vital role in the musical life of a school, performing in services and concerts across two campuses. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment while contributing to an internationally renowned choral programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play for services and concerts in both Rugby School and Bilton Grange
  • Contribute to the musical life of the school as an integral part of the music team
  • Support the development of the choral programme and its associated activities
  • Collaborate with other musicians and staff to enhance the school’s musical offerings
  • Prepare and perform a wide range of repertoire, including cathedral music
  • Participate in rehearsals, workshops, and other musical events
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Engage with the school community through performances and outreach activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Exceptional organ playing ability and musical talent
  • Experience in choral and cathedral music
  • Commitment to developing as a musician in a professional and supportive environment
  • Ability to perform at a high standard in a variety of settings
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to the role

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of the choral tradition and its historical context
  • Experience with music education or mentoring
  • Fluency in a second language
  • Experience with digital music tools and performance recording
