The Opportunity:
As a Lead Science Practitioner, you will lead by example in the classroom, drive innovation in Science teaching, and support colleagues to deliver outstanding learning experiences for students from Year 7 to Year 11. This role is ideal for an ambitious Science specialist who wants to shape the future of Science education and make a measurable impact across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model excellent Science teaching practice and lead by example in the classroom.
- Coach and mentor staff to raise standards in Science teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative pedagogical strategies.
- Support the delivery of a high-quality Science curriculum across all key stages.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive improvement and raise achievement in Science.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, high expectations, and continuous professional development.
- Engage with the wider school community to enhance Science education and student outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of departmental strategies and whole-school initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven track record in Science teaching.
- Experience in leading and mentoring colleagues in a school setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff alike.
- Commitment to inclusion, high expectations, and student achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in driving innovation and improvement in Science education.
- Background in professional learning and coaching.
- Experience working in an all-through school setting.
- Familiarity with the Continual Professional Growth Policy.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary within the Lead Practitioner Pay Range 1-3 (£52,026.00 - £54,663.00 per annum).
- Relocation package and/or signing bonus available.
- Employer pension contribution of at least 23%.
