The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Primary Maths Lead Teacher to shape the mathematics curriculum across the Primary Phase and deliver high-quality teaching as a class teacher. This role offers the chance to influence school-wide improvement and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a coherent and ambitious mathematics curriculum from EYFS to Year 6.
  • Support colleagues in planning, teaching, and assessment to ensure consistency and high expectations in mathematics.
  • Use assessment data to identify gaps and support staff in adapting teaching to raise pupil outcomes.
  • Provide targeted support, coaching, and curriculum refinement to improve outcomes for all learners, including disadvantaged pupils.
  • Model high-quality teaching and create an inclusive, positive learning environment in the classroom.
  • Contribute to the wider Primary Leadership Team and support whole-school improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the school’s vision, “Every Child Achieves,” through effective leadership and collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong track record of effective classroom practice in the primary phase.
  • Secure subject knowledge in mathematics and the ability to lead and inspire colleagues.
  • Experience or clear potential to lead a subject and drive improvement across a school.
  • Strong understanding of the primary mathematics curriculum and effective teaching approaches.
  • Ability to use assessment effectively to inform teaching and raise pupil outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support and develop colleagues.
  • Commitment to inclusion, high expectations, and ensuring every child succeeds in mathematics and beyond.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a subject or curriculum team.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in curriculum development or educational leadership.
