The Opportunity:
As a Learning Services Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with a range of developmental needs and/or disabilities. This role is crucial in helping students navigate the learning environment and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to students in navigating the school building and accessing learning spaces
- Work collaboratively with class teachers to support students’ learning and development
- Deliver personal care to students as required to ensure their comfort and well-being
- Monitor and evaluate students’ progress to support their successful progression through the curriculum
- Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans and support strategies
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance support practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with additional needs or disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Flexibility and willingness to support students with a wide range of needs
- Good organisational and time management skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational setting
- Experience in providing personal care or support to students
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices
- Experience with teaching or learning support strategies
- Familiarity with assessment and monitoring processes
