The Opportunity:

As a Learning Services Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with a range of developmental needs and/or disabilities. This role is crucial in helping students navigate the learning environment and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to students in navigating the school building and accessing learning spaces
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to support students’ learning and development
  • Deliver personal care to students as required to ensure their comfort and well-being
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ progress to support their successful progression through the curriculum
  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans and support strategies
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents to ensure consistent support
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance support practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with additional needs or disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Flexibility and willingness to support students with a wide range of needs
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an educational setting
  • Experience in providing personal care or support to students
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices
  • Experience with teaching or learning support strategies
  • Familiarity with assessment and monitoring processes
