The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across all year groups and subject areas. This is a key position in the Specialised Learning Centre, where you will help students overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential through one-to-one and group support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in the classroom through one-to-one and group assistance.
• Work collaboratively with the SLC team to develop and implement individual learning plans.
• Assist in identifying and addressing learning barriers for students.
• Provide flexible support tailored to the changing needs of students.
• Deliver high-quality, motivating support that challenges and engages students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
• Work across a range of subjects and age groups with adaptability and enthusiasm.
• Offer First Aid support where required or be willing to complete training.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Minimum of GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification.
• Good working knowledge of ICT.
• High expectations of students to motivate and challenge them.
• Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and resourceful.
• A positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
• Willingness to complete First Aid training if not already qualified.

Preferred

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviours.
