The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team and support the upkeep of our campus and grounds. This role involves addressing day-to-day maintenance issues, liaising with contractors, and assisting with ad-hoc requests. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive maintenance tasks across the school site and grounds.
- Assist in supporting other homes in the community with maintenance needs.
- Liaise with contractors and manage on-site works when required.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from management and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for students and staff.
- Support the school’s mission by ensuring all facilities are in excellent working condition.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver a consistent and high-quality service.
- Follow health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with all regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a maintenance role or similar position.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A thorough and methodical approach to work.
- Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks and provide references.
Preferred
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or plastering.
- Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety regulations.
- Enthusiasm for DIY and a proactive, hands-on attitude.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
