Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
- Work closely with other staff, therapists, and external professionals to support students’ learning and development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that reflect the unique needs and goals of each student.
- Manage and support students with complex needs, including those with autism, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Promote positive behaviour and social skills through structured and supportive teaching approaches.
- Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience, preferably in a primary setting.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and curriculum adaptation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with the TIS approach or similar structured teaching methodologies.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies for students with complex needs.
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Experience with speech and language therapy or other therapeutic support interventions.
