Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with other staff, therapists, and external professionals to support students’ learning and development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that reflect the unique needs and goals of each student.
  • Manage and support students with complex needs, including those with autism, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills through structured and supportive teaching approaches.
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience, preferably in a primary setting.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and complex needs.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and curriculum adaptation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with the TIS approach or similar structured teaching methodologies.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies for students with complex needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Experience with speech and language therapy or other therapeutic support interventions.
