The Opportunity:
As a Maintenance Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school's buildings and grounds are well-maintained and safe. This is a hands-on position that combines practical skills with a friendly approach to supporting the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair school buildings, ensuring they are in good condition and safe for students and staff.
- Carry out regular checks on site facilities, including electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Perform outdoor maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and general groundskeeping.
- Assist with minor building repairs and improvements using a range of tools and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all school sites.
- Work flexible hours and be available for shift work as required.
- Support other members of the school community with maintenance-related tasks when needed.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Current UK driving licence.
- Experience with building maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Strong practical skills in DIY and construction-related tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shift patterns.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience with outdoor maintenance and groundskeeping.
- Previous experience with electrical or plumbing systems.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.68.
