The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Carpenter to join our maintenance team and contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of our school estate. This role involves a range of carpentry tasks, from repairs and installations to bespoke joinery work, ensuring the school remains in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair wooden fixtures, furniture, doors, and windows
- Manufacture and install bespoke joinery items
- Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Carry out repairs and installations across the school estate
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Keep work areas clean and organized at all times
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven carpentry/joinery experience
- Skilled in woodworking machinery and hand tools
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred
- Experience with bespoke joinery projects
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a school setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
