The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality mathematics lessons to students across all Key Stages, ensuring engaging and challenging content.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for mathematics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the Acer Trust to share best practice and enhance teaching methods.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Mathematics Department through active participation in professional development and training.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with students to build strong relationships and promote a culture of mutual respect and high expectations.
  • Stay up to date with current pedagogical research and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into lessons.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Full teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at A level or equivalent.
  • Experience with teaching in a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • Experience with pedagogical research and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience with using digital tools and resources in the classroom.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development initiatives.
