Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Develop and implement schemes of learning that meet the needs of all learners
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve teaching and learning
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to support individual development
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Maths curriculum
  • Stay up to date with developments in Maths education and incorporate new teaching strategies
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status with a degree in a related discipline
  • Experience of teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • A genuine passion for Maths and a belief in the potential of every student
  • Ability to think strategically about classroom practice and tailor lessons to students’ needs
  • Commitment to setting high expectations and being a positive role model

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Maths at Key Stage 5
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment practice
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with continuous professional development (CPD)
