The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be at the heart of transforming students' educational journeys through personalised, high-quality teaching. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive, multi-professional team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons tailored to individual student needs and aligned with the school curriculum.
- Monitor, record and report on student progress to support continuous development and improvement.
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging and well-organised learning environment.
- Develop and review individual education, behaviour and learning plans in collaboration with colleagues.
- Lead on subject areas across key stages, ensuring effective teaching and assessment.
- Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, tutors and care staff to provide consistent support.
- Support students with challenging behaviour, helping them develop self-regulation skills.
- Contribute to whole-school development and safeguarding practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A valid driving licence
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs
- Commitment to inclusive, child-centred teaching practices
- Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
Preferred
- Experience working with students with complex social, emotional and mental health needs
- Experience with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Experience in developing individual education plans
- Experience with multi-professional team collaboration
