The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-achieving department and support students in reaching their full potential. The role will involve delivering engaging lessons and contributing to the GCSE resit programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Mathematics that stimulate curiosity and academic challenge.
  • Contribute to the GCSE resit programme and support students in achieving outstanding results.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement robust schemes of work.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages initiative, confidence, and independence.
  • Support the school’s commitment to raising student aspirations and achieving excellent outcomes.
  • Engage students with diverse and well-planned lessons that promote both enjoyment and academic growth.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning through continuous assessment and feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Mathematics.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at GCSE level.
  • Strong classroom management and delivery skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching post-16 students.
  • Familiarity with the SFCA salary scales and teaching conditions.
  • Experience in developing and delivering robust schemes of work.
  • Experience in supporting students with a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Experience in contributing to departmental development and sharing good practice.
