The Opportunity:
As a Maths Tutor, you will play a key role in helping GCSE pupils achieve a Grade '5' in Maths. You will deliver targeted tuition to small groups of students, working closely with classroom teachers to enhance learning outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in disadvantaged communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality tuition to groups of six GCSE pupils, focusing on achieving a Grade '5' in Maths.
- Work closely with regular teachers to design and implement a complementary tuition programme.
- Use knowledge of the Edexcel GCSE Maths specification to support student learning.
- Spend two days per week at two different schools in the North West.
- Work from home one day per week, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
- Support students in disadvantaged communities to reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to ensure a cohesive approach to student success.
- Provide regular feedback and progress updates to the school team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Maths or a related subject.
- Proven experience in successfully delivering GCSE Maths.
- Strong knowledge of the Edexcel GCSE Maths specification.
- A genuine passion for helping young people in disadvantaged communities achieve their goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or tutoring within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with Star Academies' values and mission.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering targeted tuition programmes.
