The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced MFL Teacher to join our department on a fixed-term contract. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development, with a focus on teaching French and Spanish across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in French and Spanish across all key stages.
  • Develop engaging and innovative lesson plans that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for language learning.
  • Support students in developing language skills through a variety of teaching methods and resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and ensure consistency in teaching standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students reach their full potential.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development sessions, and other school events as required.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching MFL, specifically French and Spanish.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach across all key stages.
  • Experience in a school setting, preferably in an independent or similar educational environment.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos, including a focus on student well-being and academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching both French and Spanish at GCSE and A Level.
  • Familiarity with the independent school sector and its expectations.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
