The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Business Studies Teacher to inspire students and foster a deep understanding of business, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum for Middle School students.
  • Develop students’ knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business decision-making through practical and innovative teaching methods.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and academic growth.
  • Integrate real-world business scenarios, collaborative projects, and problem-solving activities into classroom learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, whole-school initiatives, and enrichment activities.
  • Attend professional development sessions and contribute to ongoing learning and growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Education, or a related field with recognised Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably within an international British-curriculum context.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that develop critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Experience in classroom management that fosters respect, responsibility, and a positive learning culture.
  • Proficiency in using formative and summative assessment to support student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience with financial literacy, enterprise, marketing, and global business concepts appropriate for Middle School learners.
  • Background in developing and delivering co-curricular activities such as enterprise clubs or entrepreneurship competitions.
  • Experience in curriculum development and moderation.
